Find the Leprechaun
Every St. Patrick’s day is usually pretty calm, but we know that the leprechaun is lurking just around the corner. Often when the kids get home from school we start seeing signs like green toilet water and green milk. This leads us to start looking to catch the leprechaun which has evaded all of our traps! You might find a trap that did not catch him with some coins scattered about, or chocolate gold coins left behind. It seems that just as we run into one room you hear coins scatter behind us or around a corner! We try and try but to no avail. The leprechaun has never been caught, but it makes for a fun tradition to explore with your kids.

Make Leprechaun Trap
In order to catch a leprechaun you need a good trap. You can usually find them on the back of Lucky Charms cereal this time of year, or you can make your own with a shoebox! You want to set it up with goodies inside like a few coins or something shiny. Be sure there is a way for the trap to fall down to catch the leprechaun! We have never caught one but we have tried every year and have fun making traps.

Make a Leprechaun House
Similar to a gingerbread house, you can make a leprechaun house out of graham crackers and candy.

Some items that you need include:
Graham Crackers
Cupcake Icing (to use as “glue”)

St. Patrick Themed candy:
Rainbow Airheads
Skittles
Gold Nuggets
Chocolate Gold Coins
